Weeks, Cathey Earn City Prep Golf Tournament Championships

McCallie, Baylor Girls Take Team Titles

Notre Dame’s David Weeks and Soddy-Daisy’s Jessica Cathey earned medalist honors Thursday in the 2010 City Prep Golf Tournament at Bear Trace at Harrison Bay.

Weeks, a junior, shot 70, edging Patrick Clossin from McCallie by one stroke for the boys individual title.

Cathy, also a junior, shot 74, topping Emily Javid from Baylor by two shots for the girls championship.

McCallie took the boys team title with an 8-over 196. Baylor won the girls championship at 9-over.

Lady Mocs Tennis Remains Unbeaten

The UTC women's tennis team posted a 5-2 win over previously undefeated Evansville on Saturday.  The Lady Mocs won the doubles point and four of six singles matches to improve to 3-0 on the season. MACON, Ga. --Lindsay Haggerty scored 29 points to lead the Wesleyan Pioneers to a 54-42 win over the Covenant Lady Scots on Saturday afternoon in Macon, Ga. Mark Phillips Was Victim In Fatal Hixson Pike Wreck

Mark Phillips, 54, was the victim in a fatal Hixson Pike wreck on Saturday afternoon. Police said the driver of the Ford F150 that went out of control and struck the Phillips vehicle was 68-year-old Warren Elliott.
