Dillard’s Donates Cookbook Sale Funds To Ronald McDonald House Charities

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

Dillard’s Chattanooga store donated over $12,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga - proceeds from holiday sales of Southern Living Cookbooks.

According to Dillard’s General Manager Bill Graves, this year’s sales more than tripled previous years. About 100 employees from the local Dillard’s store participated in selling more than 2,200 custom-edition Southern Living Christmas cookbooks at $10 each.

The fundraiser is part of a national effort with Dillard’s and Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Jane Kaylor, executive director, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga, said, "We are thrilled that Dillard’s ongoing partnership with RMHC is helping to provide support to families when they need it most. Families that use Ronald McDonald House Charities services derive strength from each other, volunteers, staff, corporate donors like Dillard's, as well as from Dillard's customers.

"This generous donation will help provide 218 nights of comfort for families who need a ‘home away from home' while their child is receiving critical medical treatment at a nearby hospital allowing families to focus on what is most important, their child."
