Entrepreneur’s Studio Spurs Business Ideas On Nov. 17

Event marks Global Entrepreneurship Week, Nov. 14-20

The Entrepreneur’s Studio will pool local small business resources in one location to encourage and support future and existing entrepreneurs on Nov. 17.

Sponsored by the Southeast Tennessee Development District and the Hamilton County Small Business Development Center, INCubator, the half-day event invites existing business owners, entrepreneurs and innovators to drop-in at The Entrepreneur’s Studio and learn about the resources that are available in the Chattanooga area.

Located at the Business Development Center at 100 Cherokee Boulevard in North Chattanooga, the event celebrates Global Entrepreneurship Week, which occurs on Nov.

14-20. During this week, more than 40,000 local, national and global organizations will host events and raise awareness about resources available to those who want to start a small business and become entrepreneurs.

Global Entrepreneur Week is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. In Tennessee, organizations throughout the state are hosting business idea pitch contests, speed-networking, entrepreneurial camps, training events and more to celebrate entrepreneurship in the Volunteer State.

Tennessee will officially kick off GEW 2011 with 48 Hour Launch – Launch Now, Sleep Later in Chattanooga, hosted by The Company Lab and Chattanooga Technology Council on Nov. 11-14. Over $30,000 of prizes will be awarded to winners in three different tracks representing technology based ideas, product based ideas and social innovations.

The event on Nov. 17 is free to the public and will be held from 9 a.m.-noon. Various organizations will be present to discuss new developments in entrepreneur and small business support, progressive financing options and the next generation of business resources. Tennessee Unemployment Rates Down In 62 Counties, Up In 23, And No Change In 10

County unemployment rates in Tennessee for April 2013, released Thursday, show the rate decreased in 62 counties, increased in 23, and stayed the same in ten. Specific county information is available here . Knox County had the state’s lowest major metropolitan rate of 6.4 percent, up from 6.2 percent in March. Lee, 5 Juveniles Charged In Multiple Robberies

Police have arrested an 18-year-old, four 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old in connection with several back-to-back robberies. Head Of BB&T's Chattanooga Commercial Banking Operations To Plead Guilty To Making Fraudulent Loans
