Chandler Properties Purchases Westland Drive Location In Cleveland

Tuesday, November 15, 2011

Chandler Properties has acquired a combination commercial warehouse/self storage facility at 1853 Westland Drive in Cleveland, Tn.

The property includes a 5,250-square-foot commercial warehouse and 34 self storage units with room to expand the self storage facility to a total of 102 units.

The property has been vacant for the last two years and was previously occupied by City Electric Supply. Renovations began in mid-October to revitalize the property so that it is available to rent to tenants.

The self storage units are now available to rent under the name Chandler Storage. Unit sizes include 10’x15’ and 10’x10’ as well as boat and RV storage.

The separate large warehouse facility is finalizing repairs and maintenance before it will be available for lease in December 2011. This warehouse includes “3 phase” power, a 1,000-square-foot office/showroom, and 4,250-square-feet of industrial warehouse space for a small business.

It also has 20-foot ceilings and has access via 14-foot and 12-foot roll-up doors.

Chandler Properties owns and operates residential, commercial, and self storage properties in the Cleveland, Tn., area. This is the second self storage property purchased during the last 14 months by Chandler Properties with both needing substantial repairs to make them operational.

Owner Michael Rogers commented, “We are excited to add this property to our portfolio. With our single leasing office at 863 Keith Street we are able to spread the cost of a property manager over several properties and keep lease rates down for our customers. The new Chandler Storage location on Westland Drive complements our current self storage facility on 20th Street which is currently 98 percent occupied. The Westland Drive location gives us 30 available units to lease and is one of the few storage facilities with available space in the Cleveland area.”

Roy Exum: Hypocrisy And Horses

I am still wincing over the fact a horrendous bill passed in the state legislature that would make whistle-blowers into criminals would have actually gone into law had it not been for Governor Bill Haslam’s eleventh-hour veto. Called the “Ag-Gag bill,” similar efforts in other states have also soured because it is no more than a Catch-22 trick to protect those who abuse animals, ... (click for more)
