Geneva Cantrell Golden died on Friday, November 25, 2011 at the age of 100.
She was born August 25, 1911, in DeKalb County, Tn., to Ransom and Lillian Cantrell and spent most of her early years in Warren County, Tn. She had lived for the last 50 years in Ringgold, Ga.
She was a woman of great love for her family, friends and church who dedicated her entire, highly productive life to serving others. She was the caregiver for many children in and out of her family and never ceased looking for ways to help everyone she knew.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Leighton Golden in 1977; one son, Jack Golden in 1969; three brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by two sons, Ben Golden, of Marietta, Ga., and Bobby Golden, of Chattanooga; daughters, Linda Carlson and Joyce Gowin, both of Ringgold; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Alma Lusk, of Manchester, Tn.; brother-in-law, John Biddle, of McMinnville, Tn.; three sisters-in-law, Clara Cantrell, Nan Cantrell, and Frankie Golden, of McMinnville, Tn.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 28, at the Ringgold Church of Christ in Ringgold. Burial will follow in Anderson Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 27, from 2-4 and 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will also receive friends from 10 a.m. on Monday, until service time at the church.
