Mrs. Pauline Moore, member of the Nancy Ward chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, gave a presentation to the Signal Mountain Genealogical Society on Tuesday, March 1.
Mrs. Moore, dressed in authentic Cherokee attire, including jewelry made of corn, stone and Lapis, talked about Nancy Ward’s life and her importance to the patriots of the Revolutionary war.
The talk was enhanced with a display of a framed picture of Nancy Ward as “ Beloved Woman of the Cherokees ”, pottery, jewelry, stones from the HiwasSee riverbed, cedar bough from the area and a star depicting the seven tribes of the Cherokee nation.
