Dr. Danny Lovett has stepped down as president of Tennessee Temple University, officials said Tuesday.
The board of trustees of Tennessee Temple "accepted the resignation of Dr. Danny Lovett as president and appointed Dr. Jim O’Neill as interim president," it was stated.
The changes will be effective July 1.
The statement said, "After discussing a number of issues and concerns, the board decided to accept Dr. Lovett’s request to implement the executive transition plan that he had been discussing for a number of months.
"The board expressed its appreciation for Dr. Lovett's six years of service as president.
"We ask that you pray for Dr. Lovett’s ministry and for Dr. O’Neill’s leadership as he assumes his new duties and responsibilities."
