Middle Tennessee’s Mountain Goat Trail is one step closer to completion. Nearly 100 people were on hand Saturday as LAR Development presented the Mountain Goat Trail Alliance with a check for more than $10,000. It was all a part of a celebration to mark the groundbreaking of Cedar Rock, a new housing development nestled just below Sewanee University of the South and St. Andrew’s School.
On top of the initial $10,000 donation, LAR Development has also made a promise to donate an additional $1,000 for each lot sold in Cedar Rock in the name of the lot’s new owner. Already, a recent sale has netted an extra $1,000 towards the trail’s construction. If all 100 proposed home sites are sold, that amounts to $110,000 towards the completion of the hiking and biking trail.
Once completed, The Mountain Goat Trail will connect communities, schools, shopping districts, restaurants and other recreation areas across more than 30 miles of the Cumberland Plateau - enhancing community ties, stronger tourism and economic development. The Mountain Goat Trail Alliance continues to accept donations. For more information on how you can get involved or donate, head to http://www.MountainGoatTrail.org.
Cedar Rock stretches across 790+ acres of picturesque mountainside land, mature forests, rippling streams and open meadows. The residential community features a private, gated entry; landscaped common areas; swimming pools; sports courts, community lodge, resident’s guesthouse, fitness and yoga center; community parks; and miles of hiking and biking trails.
