McCallie's Alex Bailey and John Miller earned second and third place respectively in the Chattanooga Bar Association Law Day Essay Contest in May.
The theme of this year’s contest was “The Legacy of John Adams: From Boston to Guantanamo.”
The American Bar Association sponsors Law Day programs around the country annually. Its goal is to instill in students an appreciation for the law and foster a greater understanding of the American judicial system as well as provide an opportunity for attorneys to serve their local communities. This year’s Law Day was May 31.
Alex, a senior in 2011-12, is a boarding student from Shelby, N.C., and John, also a rising senior, is a boarding student from Fort Wayne, Ind.
