* TORNADO WARNING FOR... MARION COUNTY IN EAST TENNESSEE...

* UNTIL 700 PM CDT

* AT 627 PM CDT... NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO 6 MILES SOUTHEAST OF MONTEAGLE... OR 11 MILES NORTHWEST OF JASPER. DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED THIS TORNADO MOVING NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH.

* LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE... MONTEAGLE AND GRIFFITH CREEK.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

THE SAFEST PLACE TO BE DURING A TORNADO IS IN A BASEMENT. GET UNDER A WORKBENCH OR OTHER PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE. IF NO BASEMENT IS AVAILABLE... SEEK SHELTER ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF THE BUILDING IN AN INTERIOR HALLWAY OR ROOM SUCH AS A CLOSET. IF IN MOBILE HOMES OR VEHICLES... EVACUATE THEM AND GET INSIDE A SUBSTANTIAL SHELTER.

A grill fire caused damage to a Signal Mountain home on Friday evening. At  7:23 pm , a 911 call was made reporting a house fire at 306 Dawn Street on Signal Mountain.
