Is it just me or has there been an increase in the number of stink bugs this year?
I have heard other people comment that they are seeing more this year.
Does anyone know of a reason why and how to get rid of them.

I noticed several more stink bugs than usual, and I was curious myself, so I used google to find this:

Long story short, we had an early spring in 2012, so there's been time for two generations of stink bugs to grow this year. It looks like people more along the coast, to the north of us, have it much worse... so instead of trying to get rid of them - that'd probably be a fool's errand, anyway - just be glad you aren't in Washington D.C. where the word "thousands" was used to describe someone's attic full of stink bugs.

Stink bugs have invaded in record numbers this year and it’s lots worse farther north. The key to keeping them out is to weather proof your house and use weather stripping in even the smallest holes and cracks.
Killing them can be smelly and their smell can invade and pollute vacuum cleaners. A water pistol with rubbing alcohol works great to kill them and if you spray your screens with a solution of water and Dawn detergent it does repel them.

I personally think that it is very appropriate that there are so many “Stink Bugs” in an election year.

My best advice on getting rid of stink bugs? Quit voting for Republicans, and they'll all disappear.
