The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office has charged Dominick Haven with imprioning his girlfriend and beating her. Haven was taken into custody early Wednesdeay morning following a SWAT team standoff.
Deputies received a call for help Tuesday at approximately 7 p.m. by Leslie Sandridge, who reported she had been held against her will by Haven.
Ms. Sandridge stated to deputies she had been held for several days at 1259 Lester Lane and during this time he had repeatedly beat her severely. She further stated he held a gun to her head with threats to kill her or the police if they were called. Ms. Sandridge managed to escape the residenceTuesday evening, going to a neighbor’s house to get help.
Sheriff’s deputies set up a perimeter around the area due to the information received he was armed and had made threats of violence towards law enforcement. The SWAT team was requested to also respond to the area due to the potential violence of the situation.
Deputies who were securing the rear area of the residence observed the suspect going into the woods at approximately 1:15 a.m. and took him into custody at that time.
Haven was charged with attempted murder and false imprisonment and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
