Cosmetology Diploma Program Added At Chattanooga College

Thursday, October 11, 2012

Chattanooga College Medical, Dental and Technical Careers announced the addition of a Cosmetology diploma program to its impressive list of course offerings.  The course offers hands-on cosmetology training in Chattanooga Tennessee at the EastGate Town Center campus, in a real-world environment. The College and the program are approved by Tennessee Higher Education Council (THEC) and accredited by Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), Washington, DC.

The program gives students the opportunity to work on actual customers in the attached salon, Shear Elegance Salon.  Instructors will teach a variety of different techniques for haircutting, hair shaping, and color processes, also including the art of facials, manicures and pedicures. This cosmetology program covers communication, professional image, clinical procedures, and sanitation laws, in addition to salon business and management. The goal of the program is to prepare students with the skills necessary to pass state exams and licensing. Graduates who successfully pass these exams will be certified to perform standard cosmetology services in beauty salons.

Students enrolled in this Cosmetology diploma program will earn 1,500 clock hours over a 12 to 18 month period. Cosmetology courses at Chattanooga College will begin on October 15, 2012. Day cosmetology students will be attending class eight hours per day Monday through Thursday. Evening students will attend for four hours per day Monday through Thursday.

The public is invited to the Open House on Monday, Oct. 15, from 12-5 p.m. Light refreshments are provided as well door prizes and fellowship. Meet Carolyn Hill (program director) and all of the support staff and ask to schedule an appointment for program enrollment or cosmetology services that will be available to the public.
