A Maxi Auto Service manager testified Thursday that she viewed a store tape of a man breaking in and stealing a television set, then she spotted the man at a nearby Mapco convenience store.

Constance Spears said she is sure that Anthony George Santora, 23, is the man seen on the video.

She said she often sees Santora around the neighborhood of the store and she said in the video she spotted the tattoo he has on his neck.

The witness said he is first seen on the video at a store window at 2:09 a.m. on a Saturday in August. She said he later returns with a rock and breaks out the window, then returns with another man and they are seen carrying out the TV.

She said she saw him in the convenience store the next Monday. She said they looked at each other, then he quickly looked away.

The TV is worth over $1,000, she said.

General Sessions Court Judge Christie Sell bound charges of burglary and theft against Santora to the Grand Jury. He entered a guilty plea to another theft.

Santora has an extensive criminal record and is due in Criminal Court on Friday on charges that include three business burglaries.
