Bike Race At TVA Test Track - Another RiverRocks First

Thursday, October 11, 2012

For the first time bike races will be held at an Advanced Vehicle Test Facility.   The former TVA test track, at 4800 Amincola, is a paved, slightly banked, one-mile oval track that was built to test automobiles. The one mile closed course is perfect for testing athletes' speed and stamina.   The Hub Endurance Test Track Race takes place Saturday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Cycling enthusiasts have been working for years to secure this venue and are excited to hold the event during RiverRocks.  "We expect up to 50 cyclists to participate," said Andy Sweet owner of Hub Endurance.  "There will be three race events; a 10 mile individual time trial and two groups of 15 to 20 mile competitive races.  The test track is set up perfectly for spectators and we would love to see a good crowd there to support our racers."

Registration is still open.  All riders must have a USA Cycling annual, or one-day license to participate. A one-day license is $10 and the race is officially sanctioned by USA Cycling. All riders must sign the USA Cycling waiver and all USA Cycling rules apply. Cost is $25 for one race and each additional race is $10. Cash and prizes for all races.

Scandals At Home And Abroad

Since my hip operation and time in recovery, I have tried to set aside things that are insignificant to me and to average Americans. Don't get me wrong here. What these people are doing (Bengahzi) is despicable be they left or right wing, and they have been doing it (both sides) for a long time. But the dirty deeds themselves carry little weight as to what they mean to you or me. ... (click for more)
