The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum has Hiwassee River Rail Adventure tickets for fall color viewing available for sale.
"The autumn colors will be peaking this month at the time of our Hiwassee River Rail Adventure excursions," said Steve Freer with the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum. "The Hiwassee River Rail is one of our most in demand seasonal rides and is a breathtaking opportunity to see the splendid red and orange color changes of the season from the comfort of one of our air conditioned coaches."
The Hiwassee River Rail Adventure departs out of Etowah, from the historic L&N Depot, a short drive from the Chattanooga and Knoxville areas. The excursion takes passengers on a 3 1/2 hour scenic adventure of the Hiwassee River basin, Cherokee National Forest and the surrounding mountains. Of particular interest is the Hiwassee Loop, where the train actually corskcrews up and over itself as it winds around the mountains.
Tickets are $38 for adults and $28 for children.
