Several Streets Closed For Weekend Events

Riverfront Parkway, from East 2nd Street to Molly Street, Chestnut Street from 2nd Street to Riverfront Parkway and Power Alley from 2nd Street to Riverfront Parkway will be closed from 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 11 through 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, for the Chattanooga Head Race.  The south bound Veterans Bridge ramp will be closed during this time period.

  Detours will be posted.

 

Reggie White Boulevard, between West 19th Street and the entrance to the Skate Park will be closed from noon on Friday, October 12, to noon on Monday, October 15, for the Chattanooga Market Oktoberfest.

 

North River Street, from behind Walker Pavilion in Coolidge Park, under the Market Street Bridge and to just south of the lower parking lot for Renaissance Park will be closed from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, for River Rocks.

 

The southbound curb lane of North Market Street from Kent Street to Peak Street will be closed from 8:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, for the Urban Nature 10K Race. The entrance to Renaissance Park from Manufacturers Road, Velma Street, Kent Street from Velma Street to North Market Street will be closed briefly.    Motorists should be aware of runners in this area.

 

Reggie White Boulevard from Main Street to West 20th Street and the inside north and south bound lanes of West 20th Street/Riverfront Parkway from Chestnut Street to Molly Street will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, October 13, for the OLPH Ram Run.

 

The sidewalks of West 3rd Street from AT & T Field to Power Alley, Power Alley to the Green, Chestnut Street from the Green to Aquarium Way ,and Aquarium Way from Chestnut Street to Power Alley will be congested with pedestrians taking part in the Chattanooga Down Syndrome Society Buddy Walk.  The event will take place Saturday, October 13, between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.  Motorists are advised to watch for pedestrians in this area.  

 

Cowart Street, between 17th Street and 18th Street will be closed on Saturday, October 13, from 5:30-10 p.m. for the Between the Sidewalks Potluck Dinner.


Creative Discovery Museum Hosts Folklife Summer Music And Dance Series

Creative Discovery Museum will host the Folklife Summer Music and Dance Series to feature the cultural diversity found in the Chattanooga region. Bands and music groups will include Rose Thorn and Fiddle Celtic Group, Ogya Band, The Tennessee Schmaltz Klezmer Band and the Indo-Cultural Art Academy. Wade Hinton Named City Attorney
