Fall Festival, Picnic, Planned At Brainerd United Methodist

A Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat at Brainerd United Methodist Church, 4315 Brainerd Road, will be Saturday, Oct. 27, from 4-6 p.m. There will be carnival games, pictures, crafts, food, a cake walk, a costume contest, a petting zoo and trunk or treat. 

Dr. Dennis Flaugher will speak at the 9 and 11 a.m. sanctuary worship services  Sunday on "I Will Support the Church With My Presence," with text from Hebrews 10:1-10. At the 11 a.m. Oasis praise and worship celebration the Rev. Linda McDaniel will speak on "Sharing God's Love With Children." 

 The church picnic will be at Pavilion #4 near the playgrounds at the Tennessee River Park, beginning at 4 p.m. Bring a covered dish to share.


Churchwide Missions Lunch Is Sunday At Signal Mountain Baptist

A churchwide mission lunch will be at noon this Sunday, at Signal Mountain Baptist Church, 939 Ridgeway Ave. All donations for the meal will go toward youth mission trips this summer. Woman Found Dead On Lovell Road; Police Looking For Terry Releford

A woman was found dead on Sunday morning at 8912 Lovell Road, and police are seeking a "person of interest" in the case. Deputies responded to that location at approximately 8 a.m. on a suspicious death. On arrival "deputies found a dead female in her 30s deceased from an apparent homicide."
