An arrest has been made in a hit-and-run that took the life of a 72-year-old woman in Rossville on Wednesday afternoon.
Brandon Dillard, 19, was charged in the death of Rosa Lee Hixon.
Ms. Hixon was unlocking her car parked on Gordon Avenue after visiting Bell's Smoke Shop when the vehicle driven by Dillard veered into her.
A witness said Dillard's vehicle was out of control and traveling at a high rate of speed.
Police said Dillard, who was charged with vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a suspended license, was angry after arguing with a passenger while at a nearby store.
The funeral of Ms. Hixon, a lifelong Rossville resident, will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home Southcrest Chapel. Burial will be at the National Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday at the funeral home.
