A Marion County mother and her companion are charged in connection with the death of her nine-year-old son, whose body was found in the back seat of a vehicle that was driven into the Sequatchie River.
Nicholas Mosier and Lindsey Newsom are charged with felony child neglect and abuse, and reckless endangerment. Mosier, who has a lengthy criminal record, is also Mosier charged with third-offense DUI and driving on a revoked license.
It is still uncertain how Zachary Taylor Henry died.
Mosier drove a Jeep Wrangler into the river and got it stuck on Saturday night. Ms. Newsom was semi-conscious when she was removed from the vehicle. Police said Mosier seemed intoxicated.
Results of an autopsy report are still awaited.
Rescuers did not know until they had rescued the two adults that the boy was still in the vehicle.
