Halloween/Festivals  

#2 Boo in the Zoo
Oct. 19, 20, 26 and 27, 5:30-8:30 p.m.  Annual Boo in the Zoo celebration some of your most lovable cartoon characters, trick-or-treat stations, costume contests, pony rides, games, inflatables, and more. This non-scary Halloween event is sure to have the whole family talking for years to come. Admission: $8.95 for adults, $5.95 (ages 3-15) and Under 3, Free. Members receive half off ticket prices. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Zoo Gift Shop. Check out the website for more information. 

#3 3rd Annual Fall Festival at Westside Community Center, Oct. 26, 4-7 p.m. 
Come check out this free community event  for participants and their families with lots of fun, including an astro jump, food, games, music, face painting, CFD Fire truck, and the CPD drug task force trailer, just to name a few. Call 756-3541.

#4 Haunted Canoe Rides at the North Chick 
Friday, Oct. 26, 6-10 p.m. at Outdoor Chattanooga at Greenway Farm, 5051 Gann Store Road, Hixson. Cost: $15 per person. No reservations required. First come, first served. Did you know that North Chickamauga Creek is inhabited by ghouls, ghosties, boogers and haints? Take a hay ride and fully guided canoe ride up the Creek to discover what the creepy residents (dead and alive) are up to. Call 643-6888 for more information. 

#5 Trunk or Treat at Shepherd Center, Oct. 29, 5-7 p.m. and Chili Supper 
Free.  Bring the kids, and your spoons. Call 855-2697 if you can donate a pot of chili or your truck. Come have fun in a safe and inviting environment...and fill up the belly. 

#6 Free Fall Carnival at Patten Center in Lookout Valley, Oct 31st. 6-8 p.m.
Patten Center will host their Fall Carnival and invite families to attend. Enjoy games, prizes, candy, hot dogs, inflatables and much more. Bring the whole family. Call 825-5955 for more information.

#7 DreamNight and Spooktacular Dance at the Zoo, Thursday, Oct. 25, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Join us for the most Spooktacular event of the season. The Chattanooga Zoo's annual Boo in the Zoo celebration includes some of your most loveable cartoon characters, trick-or-treat stations, costume contests,  games, a dance/DJ, and much more. This non-scary Halloween event is sure to have the whole family talking for years to come.  Dreamnight is a free, open house event for individuals with special needs and/or terminal illnesses and their families or caretakers. Dreamnight offers a VIP Zoo visit that acknowledges and accommodates the unique circumstances that generally limit relaxing outings for these families during normal operating hours. Please RSVP to the Zoo at 697-1319.

#8 Chattanooga's Outside Fitness Trail
In Warner park, near the zoo, the pool and the Chattanooga Fitness Center. The health trail was designed for people who want to combine the benefits of a fitness program with the fresh air and sunshine of the great outdoors. With 16 activity stations, plus warm-up and cool down stations, health trail allows people of all fitness levels to experience a total body workout n a natural environment. At each station you will find a sign describing the exercises that can be performed, as well as how to vary the level of difficulty for your fitness level. This guide will show you even more ways to use the health trail system to achieve your personal health and fitness goals, including exercises, techniques, activity tracker and more. Georgia DNR Law Enforcement Receives Grant To Promote Safe Boating

Agencies Announce Funding Agreement For Federal Trout Hatchery Operation, Tennessee Valley Stocking

Senator Lamar Alexander and representatives from the Tennessee Valley Authority, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and Georgia Department of Natural Resources announced Friday a new agreement that will continue popular trout stocking programs in reservoirs and tailwaters of certain TVA dams across the region. Baker Says City Withdrawal On Riverbend Security Will Make Pin Costs Rise Next Year

Riverbend Festival Executive Director Chip Baker told the Civitan Club on Friday that the city's decision to no longer provide city police officers inside the festival gates will cost pin prices to go up next year.
