The public is invited to wear its patriotic best and attend the USO Dance from 6:30-10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, at the American Legion Blair Post 95, 3329 Ringgold Road in East Ridge.

There will be door prizes, games, contests, food and dancing. Sponsored each fall by the Chattanooga Area Veterans Council (CAVC), the dance is open to all ages, so families are encouraged to attend.

The cost is $12 per person for advance reservations or $15 per person at the door. Originally established in 1983 as a means to coordinate the activities of various area veterans groups, today’s CAVC is comprised of some 50 member and associate organizations providing streamlined support efforts, celebratory event coordination and a centralized resource repository for all military veterans and their families in the tri-state area of Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama.
