Mocs Host Samford In Key SoCon Football Matchup

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team will be looking for its third win in a row when it hosts Samford on Saturday, Oct. 20 at Finley Stadium. Chattanooga is 3-3 overall, 2-1 in league play, and is one of four teams in the Southern Conference with just a single loss. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. (E.D.T.) against the 5-2 Bulldogs who are fifth in the league at 3-2.

The Mocs are coming off a big 31-10 win on the road at Furman. Couple that with the 28-10 win at No.

11 The Citadel on Sept. 29 and the Mocs have held back-to-back SoCon road opponents to 10 points or less for the first time since 1985. Chattanooga is going for its first three-game winning streak since 2010.

Samford is off to its best start since the 2003 season. Their only losses have come against two of the best teams in the nation, including a 35-16 setback at No. 9 Georgia Southern on Sept. 29 and a 28-25 loss at home to No. 13 Appalachian State last weekend.
