Lee University Jazz Ensemble Performs Oct. 25

The Lee University Jazz Ensemble will present its fall concert on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the Church Street Annex Auditorium under the direction of Alan Wyatt. 

The ensemble will feature the music of Bob Mintzer, Count Basie, and Charles Mingus, along with a Maria Schneider arrangement of “Ladybird” by Tadd Dameron, among other compositions. 

The Jazz Ensemble consists of 23 students with various majors, and includes 14 wind instrumentalists and nine rhythm section instrumentalists. A frequent award winner at national festivals, it performs for campus, school, and civic events. Its students also have the opportunity to perform in combos under the supervision of tenor saxophonist Wyatt, a highly acclaimed soloist known for his imaginative improvisations and assistant professor of music at Lee.

Jericho Brass To Perform At Lake Katoomba May 25

Man Stabbed To Death After Argument

A Chattanooga man was stabbed to death after an argument on Friday night. At approximately 11 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a stabbing at 101 E 20 th St. where they found the victim, Alexis Lewis, 51, lying on the walkway with a fatal stab wound to his chest. Baker Says City Withdrawal On Riverbend Security Will Make Pin Costs Rise Next Year
