Jacara Pendergrass presented pillows to Ms. Kathy Long at Chattanooga Community Kitchen family housing.

Girl Scout Jacara Pendergrass with Troop 40276 collected and sewed over 80 pillows for her Girl Scout silver award the second highest award a girl can receive in scouting.

Jacara wanted to do something that could impact the community, so she took her skills from sewing and  made pillows. She also set up a collection pillow drive at church and asked family, friends, and others girls scouts to help with the project .

Jacara presented pillows to Ms. Kathy Long at the Community Kitchen for family housing, and she said these pillows might remind them of something special that they may have left behind.

Jacara also donated pillows to St. Barnabas Nursing Home where she volunteered this past summer. She noticed the pillows were looking a little flat and uncomfortable and wanted to do something special for the elderly to make them a little more comfortable.

Jacara said thanks to her church members at Tucker Baptist, Daisy Girl Scout Troop 40504, family, and friends, and all who made this project a success.
