Baylor's Vines Sixth At World Fencing Championships

Baylor Latin teacher and fencing coach Kristin Vines took sixth place in the Ladies Foil 50-59 age group at the Veteran Fencing World Championships held recently in Krems, Austria.

Vines entered the event as the 29 seed, quickly moved up to tenth after the first round of competition, and progressed through two elimination rounds before losing to the eventual gold medal winner.

MUS Netters Edge McCallie, 4-3

Defending D-II AA state champion Memphis University School defeated McCallie, 4-3, Thursday in Nashville. Both teams will compete in the Carter Invitational Friday and Saturday. Lookouts Triumph on Mayora's Game-Winning Single in Ninth

  Thursday night, the  Chattanooga Lookouts (9-12) started a 10 - game home stand against the Birmingham Barons (10-11) before a packed stadium with a crowd of 5,576. Child, 23 Months, Found Dead In Crib With Fentanyl Patch On Back; Death Ruled Homicide

A 23-month-old Chattanooga boy has been found dead in his crib with a Fentanyl patch on his back. The death of Demarcus Bryant at 7655 Borris Dr. last month was ruled a homicide. An autopsy report says he died from "Fentanyl patch placed by someone else." Chattanooga Police are investigating. No one has yet been charged. The child was found face down in his crib. ...
