Rosebud Jameson, 96, of Cleveland, TN, died on Thursday, October 18, 2012 in Cleveland. 

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Bartow Jameson and Cora Cate McKamy Jameson; sisters, Mattie Ida Jameson and Mary Nell Pendergrass; brothers, J.S. Jameson, B.J. Jameson and J.N. Jameson and their wives; nephew, Billy Wayne Jameson; and nieces, Jo Ann Jameson and Carol Marie Fisher. 

For most of her life Rose lived in the Jameson home place and took care of her father and mother until their death. Rose was the youngest of the Jameson children and felt it was her duty. In later years she would speak of her love for her parents and how she willingly gave up many of life’s pleasures to unselfishly care for them. Over the years Rose worked to modernize the home place; adding wiring for electricity and running water with indoor plumbing. She spent much of her earnings on improving the home inside and out. Her sister, Mary Nell moved into the home after her husband’s death and Rose cared for Mary Nell until her death in 1997. 

As age began to make caring for the house too difficult, Rose reluctantly sold the home place and moved into an apartment in Cleveland. She learned to enjoy the apartment, especially since it meant living next door to her close friend, Billie Howell. Billie spent hours keeping Rose company and helping her with errands and appointments. Billie’s friendship was a constant source of happiness for Rose. It was difficult for Rose and her friends and family when she could no longer live by herself and moved into an extended care facility. 
Another friend, Bennie Roesel would take Rose to Wal Mart where she loved to drive herself around the store on the electric cart. Even in her 90’s she enjoyed driving those carts and liked to move around the store at a good clip. 
Rose was a member of Bowman Hills Seventh Day Adventist Church and loved her church family. As her health declined the thing she talked the most about missing was being able to go to church. She looked forward each week for church family who came to see her. Rose’s faith was her life and as long as she was able she read her Bible and enjoyed listening to the sermons on 3ABN. Her greatest desire was to live for her Lord and to be ready to meet him when her returns. 
Rose’s report card reveals that she was an “A” student in school. One of her first jobs was at the Hardwick Woolen Mills where she worked in the accounting department for many years. Rose believed Saturday was God’s Sabbath and when asked to work on the Sabbath, she arranged with the company to come in on Sunday to do her work. After this job ended in 1951 Rose went to work for Peerless Textiles as a clerk in their winding department until it closed in 1954. 
Friends suggested that Rose apply for a job with McKee Baking Company where she worked in several departments. Twenty three years later, on December 31, 1980, Rose retired from their Credit Union. In a retirement letter of commendation, Ellsworth McKee wrote the following: 
“Thank you for your 23 years of service with the bakery. As a forelady and supervisor on second shift, you were very efficient in keeping things running smoothly and very efficient in doing the paperwork needed for the job. We were happy when you moved into the office and appreciate your determination to be sure that everything was done right. Because of your confidentiality and efficiency, you were chosen to be the Credit Union Manager. Thank you for all of your years of faithful work and I wish you many happy retirement years.” 
During her years at McKee’s, Rose worked with and became friends with Charles Wilson. Charles became like a brother to Rose and during the later years of her life Charles handled all of Rose’s affairs. For this love and kindness, her family offers a special thank you Charles. 
Rose’s greatest desire was to be ready to meet her Savior and now she waits to hear that resurrection call when He returns. 

Survivors include three nieces; two nephews; several cousins; and many, many friends. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, October 22, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Haley officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with Jud Jameson, Paul Roesel, Burton Hall, John Eaton, Vernon Holloway and Ted Dubs serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. 
Her family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. Monday, October 22 at the funeral home prior to the service.
