Police have charged Jonathan "Butter Bean" Airks Jr. with the theft of items from a car that was parked at Boyd-Buchanan School. He is also facing a number of other charges.
Airks, 21, of 2900 E. 37th St., is charged with two counts of theft of property, two counts of burglary, burglary of an auto, theft over $500 and six counts of vandalism.
In the incident Sept. 10, Brogen Baker found that his 2012 Volkswagen was burglarized while at school. The driver's side window was broken out.
Taken were a radar detector, a GPS and a blue gym bag. The total loss was $600.
A witness said the suspect drove off in a red Ford Ranger pickup truck. An officer stopped the vehicle three days later, and the owner, a student at Boyd-Buchanan, advised that she let Airks use the truck on the 10th.
The witness was shown a lineup and she picked out Airks.
