Volunteers Needed For Annual Tennessee River Rescue On Saturday

The City of East Ridge and the Tn. River Rescue Group are seeking volunteers for the annual Tn. River Rescue at Spring Creek. This year, the Spring Creek Tn. River Rescue will be held Saturday, from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. Registration and morning briefing will take place at the City of East Ridge garage at 1510 Yale Street.

The City and the Tennessee River Rescue team are seeking volunteers to assist with the pickup of debris along the creek bank, remove debris from the water and assist with hauling debris from the site. The City of East Ridge received a grant from the Tn. Wildlife Resources Agency to provide volunteers tools and equipment for the day.

To register as a volunteer, please contact Larry Clark, Tn. River Rescue Coordinator for the East Ridge Zone at 423 443-1806.Volunteers can also register the morning of the event. All volunteers will receive a T-shirt, snacks and appropriate tools to assist with the clean up. 

Twenty-four years ago, the Tennessee River Rescue started as a small group of concerned citizens wanting to clean up their hometown.
