Large Retail Building Planned At Browns Ferry Road Exit Of I-24

A 12,480-square-foot retail building is being planned at the Browns Ferry Road exit of I-24.

Broadway Group LLC plans to construct the facility next to the Tiftonia Church of Christ. The church has had the 2.45-acre property for sale. 

The development firm will go before the Planning Commission on Oct. 8 at 1 p.m. on the property at 151 Browns Ferry Road.

The staff of the Regional Planning Agency is recommending approval of the rezoning request.

There would be a single curb cut onto Browns Ferry Road.

Woman Found Dead On Lovell Road; Police Looking For Terry Releford

A woman was found dead on Sunday morning at 8912 Lovell Road, and police are seeking a "person of interest" in the case. Deputies responded to that location at approximately 8 a.m. on a suspicious death. On arrival "deputies found a dead female in her 30s deceased from an apparent homicide."
