Travel Trailer Camp Eyed On 40 Acres Near Sequoyah Nuclear Plant

Tuesday, October 02, 2012

Bobby Keyes is proposing to set up a “Travel Trailer Camp” on 40 acres near the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant at Soddy Daisy.

He said the camp at the 2500 block of Igou Ferry Road would serve the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant and Tennessee Valley Authority employee needs for those who are called in for outages or events tied to the plant’s operation.

Mr. Keyes said he wants to include mini-warehouse storage to be used by the “residents” of the camp, for storage of equipment and also for other customers from the nearby area.

He said he has received a request from TVA to provide the space for these “part-time or temporary” crews that are brought in for emergencies or to perform work related to power generation, quality checks, audits, maintenance, etc. He also noted that these individuals are often called in for employment that may keep them on site and at the “RV park” for six months to two years.

The proposed “Travel Trailer Camp” includes 50’ X 80’ lots that will be available for Recreational Vehicles (RV) parking with “camp sites” laid out at a rate of 10 spaces per acre.

The camp sites are to be lined with gravel and served by gravel roads.

The matter is due to come before the Planning Commission next Monday at 1 p.m. at the County Courthouse.

Scandals At Home And Abroad

Since my hip operation and time in recovery, I have tried to set aside things that are insignificant to me and to average Americans. Don't get me wrong here. What these people are doing (Bengahzi) is despicable be they left or right wing, and they have been doing it (both sides) for a long time. But the dirty deeds themselves carry little weight as to what they mean to you or me. ... (click for more)

Roy Exum: 50 Facts About Our Bodies

Today the book is a classic and I have marveled ever since over how unbelievable human ... (click for more)
