Walker County Political Candidates Forum Is Oct. 9

Tuesday, October 02, 2012

The Walker County Chamber of Commerce will host a Political Candidates Forum on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the Walker County Civic Center in Rock Spring.  Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the event will begin at 6:30 p.m.  The public is invited to attend this event, free of charge.

There will be three local elections with opposition in the November election.  Candidates from the following races are invited to attend: Walker County sheriff, Georgia House of Representative - District 1, and Walker County commissioner.

Participating candidates will present their responses to questions that have been prepared by the Chamber’s Governmental Affairs Committee.  Once the questions have been answered by each opponent, the candidates will have a rebuttal opportunity.

It is the policy of the Walker County Chamber of Commerce to remain neutral regarding political campaigns. The Chamber does not support/endorse individual candidates. Campaign materials (buttons, yard signs, stickers, brochures, and etc.) are not allowed to be distributed or left at the Walker County Chamber of Commerce’s offices or at any of the events.

The Chamber hosts Candidates Forums at which time candidates are encouraged to participate. During these events candidates are asked uniformed questions and are all given the same amount of time to respond.
