Mocs Tennis Team Finishes Play At Ohio Valley Regionals

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis team wrapped up play at the 2012 USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regionals in Memphis, Tenn. Saturday. The Mocs had four competing in the second round of the main draw, but all lost in tough matches.

SeniorManuel Barroetavena (Buenos Aires, Argentina) lost to top-seeded Anthony Rossi of Kentucky (6-3, 6-0). Fellow seniorRoberto Vieira (Bedfordview, South Africa), the No. 17 seed in the tournament, lost to MTSU's Ettore Zito (6-1, 6-3).

Also in action were seniorsAnkit Chopra (Chandigrah, India) and Jackson Tresnan (Apopka, Fla.). Tresnan lost to Louisville's Austin Siegel (6-1, 6-1) while Chopra fell to Johnny Grimal (6-2, 6-3) of Memphis.

This is the final tournament of the fall for Chattanooga. The Mocs will now prepare for the dual season which stats in January.

A Chattanooga man was stabbed to death after an argument on Friday night. At approximately 11 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a stabbing at 101 E 20 th St. where they found the victim, Alexis Lewis, 51, lying on the walkway with a fatal stab wound to his chest.
