Brian Scissom, 36, of Whitwell, TN, died Saturday, October 20, 2012. 

He was a devoted husband and father, avid fisherman and hunter. 

He was preceded in death by brother, Garan Lee Scissom; grandfather, Newton Scissom; and grandparents, Goldie and Harrison Barnett Jr. 

He is survived by wife, Amy Scissom; daughter, Hailee Isabel Scissom; father, Gerald Scissom; mother, Nancy Hall; step-father, Jack Hall; grandmothers, Olus Isabel Scissom, all of Whitwell and Sue Hall of Harrison; nieces, Sophie Ann Cookston and Ella Grace Campbell; and nephew, Andrew Stephen Campbell. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 24 at 1 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Ronnie Cookston officiating. Burial will be in Whitwell Memorial Cemetery. 

Arrangements are by Reed Funeral Home, 11675 Hwy 28, Whitwell, where the family will receive friends Tuesday, October 23 from 6-8 p.m. CDT.

2 Wrecks Temporarily Close I-75 Northbound At Exit 11 On Wednesday Morning

Due to two wrecks that occurred early Wednesday morning, I- 75 northbound at exit 11 has been temporarily closed while emergency crews continue to work both accidents.  Traffic was being rerouted to Old Lee Highway to avoid the accident scene.   It is unclear at this time how long this portion of the freeway will be closed, authorities said at 6 a.m.. Teen Shot Multiple Times On 4th Avenue; 2nd Youth Shot Twice On Pinewood Avenue; Woman Shot Twice On 25th Street

A teen was shot multiple times on 4th Avenue on Monday night. The victim was 19-year-old JaMarcus Davis.
