Voting Opens For My Neighborhood Rocks Video Contest

Tuesday, October 23, 2012

Voting for the second annual My Neighborhood Rocks video contest will be open from Oct. 23 to Oct. 31 on the Facebook page of Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise (CNE).

My Neighborhood Rocks, a competition hosted by CNE and the Association for Visual Arts (AVA), encouraged neighborhoods in the Chattanooga city limits to submit a video five minutes or less in length focusing on the theme of “play.” These videos are meant to highlight activities in which local residents participate within their neighborhoods.

“My Neighborhood Rocks is a great showcase of the creativity flowing in Chattanooga’s diverse communities,” said Nick Wilkinson, CNE director of development.

The Chattanooga area can begin voting on a favorite video at www.facebook.com/cneinc starting on Tuesday. The five videos with the highest number of votes will move on to the judging portion of the competition, where a panel will decide the top three winners. Contest winners will be announced publically on Friday, Nov. 9 at Miller Plaza’s Waterhouse Pavilion from 6-8 p.m.

Neighborhood Associations are vying for a grand prize of $5,000, with two additional prizes awarded for second and third place. To view last year’s winning entry and contest information, visit www.myneighborhoodrocks.com
