GPS Inducts Members Into National Honor Society

Both GPS juniors and seniors were inducted into the Duffy-Jarnagin Chapter of the National Honor Society during the first semester of the 2012-13 school year. These students exemplify the four characteristics considered for membership: scholarship, service, leadership, and character. 

Speaking at the ceremony about the four qualities that mark NHS members were Monica Justo, president; Sydney Leech, vice president; Chappel Sharrock, secretary; and Belle Brzezienski, treasurer. They cited the new inductees' "unwavering commitment to learning," their integrity, donations of time and effort to the community, and ability to inspire others to follow. 

New senior members of the NHS are Bella Chiareli, Sarah Cobble, Alexis Crutchfield, Becky Gardner, Sarah Hicks, Olivia Nickel, Vivian Shi, Lindsey Wills, and Grahm Valadie. 

Juniors who were inducted include Madison Bratcher, Anna Carroll, Kristen Carter, Lauchlan Davis, Jessica Erhart, Fleming Farrow, Blakley Fine, Michelle Fleenor, Mary Chandler Gwin, Shannon Han, Abbi Harr, Alyx Labbe, Taylor Pels, Megan Rohn, Leah Russell, Christian Shaheen, Bonnie St. Charles, Caroline Stitts, Meghna Talluri, Taylor Thomas, Caroline Vance, and Lucy Whitfield.


Fifth Annual Day Camp For Individual?s With Autism Set June 17-20

The fifth annual Camp Spectrum will be held at Lee University’s Helen DeVos College of Education from June 17-20. Woman Found Dead On Lovell Road; Police Looking For Terry Releford

A woman was found dead on Sunday morning at 8912 Lovell Road, and police are seeking a "person of interest" in the case. Deputies responded to that location at approximately 8 a.m. on a suspicious death. On arrival "deputies found a dead female in her 30s deceased from an apparent homicide."
