The Urban League of Greater Chattanooga will host the sixth annual Infinite Scholars Scholarship Fair on Nov. 8. The Fair will be held at the Eastgate Town Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5-8 p.m. This event brings together high school seniors and juniors with recruiters and admissions officers from more than 30 national colleges and universities.
The Infinite Scholars Scholarship Fair is unique in that students do not just leave the fair with brochures and information about applying to colleges. Instead, they leave with admission letters, scholarships and financial aid packages. Last year the Fair generated over $1.3 million in scholarships for Hamilton County seniors. In past years, awards have ranged from $3500 to full-ride scholarships.
A variety of schools will be represented such as Alabama, A&M, Purdue University, Tuskegee University, Hampton University, UTC, MTSU, ETSU and many others.
Students must have at least a 2.5 GPA to attend the Fair. Participants must also bring evidence of their most recent ACT score, transcripts including GPA, two letters of references from teachers, administrators or community members, resume and an essay titled “Why I want to go to college.” Several copies of these items are needed and will be shared with the college representatives.
