In honor of October's breast cancer awareness month at Burks United Methodist Church, 6433 Hixson Pike, "Worship in Pink" will be celebrated at both the 9 and 11 a.m. worship services on Sunday.
Survivors will be honored for their courage and remember those who have lost their lives to breast cancer. Those attending are asked to wear something pink to show support and take advantage of the educational packages that will be available in the narthex. After worship services the Mammogram Mobile from the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center Services, will be available for mobile mammograms from 3-7 p.m.
The annual fall festival will be Sunday from 3-7 p.m. on the ball field and parking lot. The stage will be in the center with games and inflatables lining the edges of the ball field and 36 craft vendors and Car Cruise-in located in the parking spaces around the ball field. There will be a diverse blend of music, including the church's Chancel Choir, which will open the festival, along with the Crossfire Worship Band and Nashville Christian recording artist Sean O'Bryan Smith. Food will be available throughout the day.
