North Hamilton County Council Hosts Annual Harvest Food Drive

The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce’s North Hamilton County Council is partnering with Walmart – Soddy Daisy to host its fifth annual Harvest Food Drive, which benefits the Soddy Daisy Food Bank.

The event will take place from 9:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at the Soddy Daisy Walmart, located at 9334 Dayton Pike. During these hours, volunteers will accept donations of non-perishable food items and Walmart will sell $5 bags of food. All donations will go directly to the Soddy Daisy Food Bank, which serves families who live from the area north of Boy Scout Road to the Rhea County line.

The Soddy Daisy Food Bank is located in Soddy United Methodist Church at 255 Depot St. Those who would like to make monetary donations should make checks out to “Harvest Food Drive” and mail them to Soddy Daisy Food Bank, Inc., Attn: Jim Gram, P.O. Box 1468, Soddy Daisy, Tn. 37384.

The North Hamilton County Council meetings, which take place the third week of each month, are open to Chattanooga Chamber members and non-members. The meetings cost $10 and lunch is included.  Meetings are held at Budweiser of Chattanooga.

Woman Found Dead On Lovell Road; Police Looking For Man Who Is On Tennessee Sex Offender Registry

A woman was found dead on Sunday morning at 8912 Lovell Road, and police are seeking a "person of interest" in the case.
