Registration is open for Run for Reece, a 5K fun run/walk to raise money for a little boy with a heart defect.
The event is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 18, at 8 a.m. at the Chattanooga RiverPark Pavilion 3. Online registration is $25 before Nov. 16. Race-day registration will be available at 7 a.m. for an additional $5. Participants can register online at www.runforreece.com.

“We need the community to pull together to support this family,” says Emily Young, event director. “Reece’s multiple surgeries are straining the Bova family emotionally and financially. We want to ease some of their stress and let them know how many people care about them.”
Run for Reece was organized to raise money for the medical bills of Reece Bova, a little boy from Ringgold. Reece was born seven months ago at Erlanger Hospital, where they discovered he had a heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallot with Severe Pulmonary Atresia.
To date, Reece has undergone three heart catheterizations, a coronary balloon angioplasty, and one heart surgery, with another major heart surgery planned before Christmas. Unfortunately, his heart condition will likely require additional surgeries as he grows.
