Raines Heading Tuder Campaign

Sunday, October 28, 2012

After announcing his candidacy for the District 2 City Council seat just weeks ago, Roger Tuder filed his qualifying petition and has a good start on fundraising.

“I am very humbled by those who have encouraged me with their signature and support in the qualifying process,” Mr. Tuder noted. “I want to earn the trust and votes of the citizens of District 2 and am impressed with the concerns already expressed.”

Roger Tuder, president and chief executive officer of Associated General Contractors of East Tennessee, announced his candidacy for the Chattanooga City Council, District 2 on Monday, Sept. 24, following the decision by City Councilwoman Sally Robinson not to seek re-election. District 2 is comprised of seven precincts: North Chattanooga 1 & 2, Riverview, Stuart Heights, Lupton City, and Northgate 1 & 2.

The campaign committee, Friends for Roger Tuder, has collected $21,600 in contributions from local supporters.

“I am deeply grateful for the financial support that has been shown early in the campaign. Being a careful steward begins in my campaign and will be my commitment in serving on the City Council,“ Mr. Tuder said.

Chattanooga businessman Major General (retired) Bill Raines will serve as treasurer for the campaign. He commented, “ Roger's leadership & experience are being recognized and supported.”
