Monday, October 29, 2012

Life Care Center of East Ridge promoted Ben Zani to the role of executive director. Mr. Zani most recently served as administrator in training at the facility.

“Ben brings a new spark to the team,” said Mike Pigg, vice president of Life Care Centers of America’s Cumberland Region.

“His focus is on providing only the highest resident care, and he has the energy and compassion to make a difference with the residents he serves.”

Originally from Danvers, Mass., Mr. Zani earned his bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from Endicott College in Beverly, Mass.

“My grandmother ran a nursing home in Danvers for roughly 50 years,” said Mr. Zani, “and my father, Paul Zani, has been a nursing home administrator for at least 20 years. Ever since I was old enough to walk (or shovel snow), I’ve been working and helping out in nursing homes, so I can literally say that I’ve been around long-term care since birth.”

Mr. Zani previously worked for the Chattanooga News Chronicle as sports director and head of advertising sales. He also served as a sports writer for the Chattanooga Times Free Press covering high school sports.

He currently resides in Ooltewah with his new bride, Ashley.
