Police said they were nearby when they heard Scott Rounsaville fire a shot at a man who had been hired to work on his driveway at 7911 Igou Gap Road.

Rounsavile was arrested later in the day at a different location after a SWAT Team was dispatched.

Officers said they were working a nearby burglary when they heard yelling and then a gunshot. One officer said he saw a man with a gun in his hand and then the man who had been shot at came running toward him.

Richard Smith said he was doing driveway work for Sue and Scott Rounsaville. He said they had a disagreement, and Scott Rounsaville called and told him to come get his equipment because he had hired someone else.

He said he was there to get his equipment when Rounsaville came out and told him to get off his property. He said Rounsaville then pulled out a chrome revolver and pointed it at him. He said the gun fired as he was coming up with it, then he pointed it at the worker's face and said, "I will kill you."

The incident happened around 10 a.m. at the location near Jenkins Road.

Later, the Chattanooga Police Department’s Fugitive Unit tracked Rounsaville to the Cascades Motel in East Ridge.

With assistance from the East Ridge SWAT Team, he was taken into custody without incident at approximately 8 p.m.
