Upcoming Events At The Tivoli, Memorial Includes CSO Masterworks

Here are the upcoming events at the Tivoli Theatre and Memorial Auditorium for November and December: 

CSO Masterworks: Dvorak Symphony No. 6 at the Tivoli Theatre
Saturday, Nov. 3, 8 p.m. 
This concert opens with Michael Daugherty's Sunset Strip. In this piece, the audience will go on a musical journey through the Sunset Strip's beatnik hangouts, Rat Pack nightclubs, private eye offices, rock clubs, and smoky jazz lounges. This concert also features CSO principals Janet Hale, flute; Robert West, clarinet; and Caroline Brown Hudson, harp on Ravel's beautiful Introduction and Allegro. Dvorák's Symphony No. 6, one of his first large works to earn him international acclaim, rounds out the concert. Tickets are available at the CSO box office and online at chattanoogasymphony.org. Comedian Ron White: Moral Compass Tour at the Tivoli Theatre
Sunday, Nov. 4, 7 p.m. 
For mature audiences.  Comedian Ron "Tater Salad" White, best known as the cigar smoking, scotch drinking funnyman from the "Blue Collar Comedy" phenomenon returns to Chattanooga with his new stand-up show Moral Compass. Bright Night--An Evening of Inspiration, Music & Comedy at the Tivoli Theatre
Thursday, Nov. 8, at 6:30 p.m.
An evening celebrating the life of Shafer Daves, featuring Squire Rushnell, Louise DuArt, Gordon Mote and Shafer. All proceeds to benefit Shafer's medical account with the Children's Organ Transplant Association, and partners YMCA, Boyz Inc, and TC Thompson Children's Hospital. John Prine in Concert at the Tivoli Theatre

John Prine is more than a musician; he is an American treasure. With numerous accolades, including two Grammys and the distinction of being one of the few songwriters honored by the Library of Congress and the US Poet Laureate, Prine is touring to support his new release The Singing Mailman Delivers, celebrating 40 years since his first self-titled album. Thomas Friedman Lecture at the Tivoli Theatre
Tuesday, Nov. 13, 7 p.m.

The George T. Hunter lecture series welcomes the renowned author, reporter, and columnist—the recipient of three Pulitzer Prizes and the author of six bestselling books, among them From Beirut to Jerusalem and The World Is Flat. Sponsored by the Benwood Foundation and UTC. Free admission.

The Singing Christmas Tree at the Tivoli Theatre
Saturday, Dec. 1, 2 and 7:30 p.m. The Chattanooga Boys Choir celebrates one of the city's most time-honored holiday traditions with this special 50th anniversary performance. Pro-Rodeo In Cleveland Is Friday, Saturday

The Pro-Rodeo is coming to Tri-State Exhibition Center Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Cowboys and cowgirls from across the region will rope, race and ride, hoping to have the fastest time of the night. Tobacco Free Chattanooga Commends Friends Of The Festival

Tobacco Free Chattanooga commends the decision by Friends of the Festival to designate smoking zones for the 2013 Riverbend Festival. The Festival’s recent policy change on the website states,  "Riverbend has designated smoking areas. 3 Charged In Raleigh With Murder Of Former Cleveland, Tn., Woman

Three people have been charged in Raleigh, N.C., with the murder last week of a 30-year-old woman, who had just moved from Cleveland, Tn. Arrested for the slaying of Melissa Dawn Huggins-Jones were Ronald Lee Anthony, 23; Sarah Rene Redden, 18, and Travion Devonte Smith, 20.
