Judge Durby Said He Hopes To Get Treatment, Be Able To Return To The Bench

General Sessions Court Judge Ron Durby, who has applied for a medical disability, said he hopes to get treatement and be able to return to the bench.

He said, "Vicka and I want to take this opportunity to advise the people of Hamilton County and our elected officials of my current condition.

"I am experiencing some physical difficulties which affect my exercising the duties of General Sessions Court Judge for Hamilton County. I must, therefore, take a leave from the Bench and have asked the Governor to appoint a special judge to attend and hold court during my absence.

"I am currently undergoing testing and treatment in hopes that I can soon return to the Bench.

"To be appointed by the County Commìssion and then twice elected by the citizens of Hamilton County has been a great honor and it is out of profound respect for the Court and, more importantly, those who come before me that I have made this decision.

"Vicka and I have been deeply touched and humbled by the number of calls expressing well wishes and We ask for your prayers and support concerning this difficult but necessary decision."


Crime Stoppers: Fraudulent Suspect At Hobby Lobby

Crime Stoppers and the Chattanooga Police Department are seeking information regarding a fraudulent suspect from Hobby Lobby on Gunbarrel Road in Chattanooga. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation obtained federal warrants for a Maine man in a child pornography investigation that resulted in his arrest earlier this week.
