Thousands Expected At Autumn Children’s Festival Saturday And Sunday

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga will host its 23rd Annual Autumn Children’s Festival Saturday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. at the Tennessee Riverpark on Amnicola Highway. 

The festival features activities for children of all ages and includes mobile Rolling Video Game Theater, giant inflatables, carnival games with prizes, arts and crafts, pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting, a Ronald McDonald Magic Show and costumed character appearances, as well as health, wellness and educational programs.

Admission and parking are free. Cost of activities ranges from 50 cents to $3. Proceeds benefit families with critically ill and injured children at the Ronald McDonald House. 

Autumn Children’s Festival is sponsored by the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants and supported by many area businesses. Health, wellness and educational activities will be provided by: Children’s Hospital at Erlanger, Chattanooga Allergy Clinic, Discovery Toys, Chattanooga Fire Department, Cadek Conservatory of Music- Kindermusik, Safe & Sound, Learning RX Chattanooga , Costco, McKee Bakery, Suntrust Bank, YMCA YFit and many other contributors.


Ladies’ Leisure Ride Is Sunday

The Ladies’ Leisure Ride is a slow-paced cruise through downtown Chattanooga, just for the ladies. Follow the course of US Pro Cycling Road Race, at a leisurely pace.  Finish with dinner downtown with other ladies who like to bike.  The ride will be held Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at Miller Plaza - 850 Market St.  There will be Nightfall closures in effect Sunday afternoon, ... Ride For Freedom Motorcycle Events Fights Human Trafficking

Second Life of Chattanooga and The Zion Project are partnering to host the Ride for Freedom, a motorcycle poker run on Saturday, June 1. Registration will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Thunder Creek Harley Davidson at 7720 Lee Highway. Woman Killed In Early-Morning Wreck On Thrasher Pike

A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Thrasher Pike early Saturday morning. Soddy Daisy Police Chief Phillip Hamrick said a female passenger was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported to Erlanger Hospital by LifeForce helicopter about 3:15 a.m. The driver was transported by Hamilton County EMS. It is believed he had non-life threatening injuries. ... City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The City Council on Tuesday is to consider a resolution to apply for a $25 million federal TIGER grant. The city would still have to come up with $21,825,000 through "local funds or grants."
