Covenant Hosts Mountaintop Madness Basketball Event

With basketball season just around the corner, the Covenant men's and women's basketball teams will be hosting the annual Mountaintop Madness event on Wednesday, October 31 at 9:00 p.m. inside Barnes Physical Education Center.

The event will showcase the 2012-13 editions of the men's and women's basketball programs. Fans will get the first look at the teams with player introductions, a dunk contest, 3-point contest, and capped with each team having an intrasquad scrimmage.

The men's and women's JV basketball teams will get in on the fun when they combine to take on a group of Covenant faculty and staff in a scrimmage.

Fans are encouraged to wear festive Halloween costumes for a chance to win "Best Individual Costume," while residence halls at Covenant can vie for the "Most Spirited Hall" award. Throughout the event, fans that were given a raffle ticket at the front door have an opportunity to win a variety of prizes from local businesses.

Beachy Finally Begins Comeback In Gwinnett

Atlanta Braves' right-hander Brandon Beachy is slated to make his belated rehab start for the Gwinnett Braves on Friday, May 24 at Coolray Field, a 7:05 PM game against the Toledo Mud Hens.
