Thompson Engineering’s Tennessee operations received the “Outstanding Employer of the Year” designation by the Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE). Thompson Engineering was chosen for its outstanding contributions to the advancement and improvement of the engineering profession through its policies and practices.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by our peers for a commitment to our core values and to our team members,” said Mack McCarley, director of Thompson Engineering’s Tennessee Operations. A number of company practices led to the selection of Thompson Engineering for the award, including flexible work hours, health benefits, retirement contributions, training, community involvement and paid gym memberships.
“We are also impressed by Thompson’s commitment to the professional development of its employees,” said Candy Toler, TSPE executive director. “The company’s support – from providing study time for employees taking licensure exams to paying employee membership fees for professional organizations – is commendable. I have been impressed by Thompson’s encouragement of participation on engineering association boards.” Also noted was Thompson Engineering’s support of community leadership and volunteer efforts of employees.
Thompson Engineering serves the Tennessee region from its offices in Chattanooga, with support for its CEI operations in Knoxville. Signature state projects include: Volkswagen Training Academy, Henley Bridge Rehabilitation, and City of Chattanooga Crest Road projects.
