RSU Contractors has announced the addition of designer, Kate Kepley, to its Chattanooga Office. She will be consulting customers on the interior design of their homes. Following, is her biography:

"I was born and raised in Vero Beach, Florida, graduating high school in 2007. The following fall, I attended Florida State University and successfully competed for one of 40 slots in the Interior Design Program.  I graduated in the spring of 2011 from the NASAD Accredited College of Visual Arts, Theatre and Dance with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interior Design, CIDA Accredited, and a minor in Business Administration.

"During the summer of 2010, I traveled abroad with Florida State University’s International Programs to Florence, Italy where I studied History of Interiors and Perspective Drawing. I was so inspired that I applied for and received the opportunity to return as a Program Assistant the following summer after graduation to aid other students in their experience. My longing of travel and exploring the United States and abroad is an ever growing passion.

"My love for artistic creativity started at a young age and led me to choose the career path of Interior Design. I’m an imaginative individual with a strong interest in creating beautiful, practical designs that stimulate the occupants’ mind and enhance their daily living. My design solutions offer fresh and creative ideas with an attention to detail.

"I chose to relocate to Chattanooga because of its reputation as a city whose leaders are actively seeking to revitalize residential and commercial real estate from the industrial town it once represented. The revitalization recognizes the importance of preserving areas of historical interest and land for all to enjoy.  That forward momentum in Chattanooga and its surrounding areas are attracting great restaurants, art and entertainment venues, events and support services such as superior medical treatment and research. Chattanooga is ideally located geographically due to the scenic beauty of its many natural assets. It is known for its diversity of outdoor recreation which draws vibrant and active residents. Since moving to the city, I’ve worked as a white water raft guide on the Ocoee and explored rock climbing, SUP, mountain biking and trail running. In my free time I enjoy shooting photography and practicing yoga. Chattanooga has a wide variety of ways to get involved within the community; there is never a reason to be bored in this city."

Location Of The Delta Queen Is The Problem

The Delta Queen is a magnificent part of history and in many ways I'm pleased she is in town. Having the boat where she is is the problem. The boat blocks the view of and from the prettiest park in our town. The crew take many of the parking spots around the park leaving families to park across Frazier and schlep their kids, strollers and picnics to the park. You don't get fireworks ... (click for more)
