Upcoming Classes Offered By UT And TSU Extension In Hamilton County

Dorothy Simmons, a Family and Consumer Science agent at the UT & TSU Extension office, will be offering two classes, "Creating Natural Learning Environments," which will feature "Natural Playgrounds: Fun, Food and Learning" and "Preparing your Child for Kindergarten." Both classes will be held at the UT & TSU Extension office, 6183 Adamson Circle, Chattanooga, Tn. 37416,  from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18. A lunch will be served. Registration fee is $25 per person. Deadline to pre-register is Oct. 15. Walk-in registration accepted on the date of the Workshop. This workshop is free to TSU/UTK faculty, staff and students.

The second is a free class, "What Will You Do When Disaster Strikes?" which will provide participants with information they need during and after a weather-related disaster. This will be a four-session program that begins on Oct. 30 and runs until Nov. 28, at the Piney Woods Family Resource Center. It will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 30; Wednesday, Nov. 7; Wednesday, Nov. 14; and Wednesday, Nov. 28, from 12-2 p.m., at the Piney Woods Family Resource Center, 701 Hooker Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37410.
